Only 2 more years to go after that... Balls. The rules must be obeyed however, and the game must be played...
Got my shiney new Ferodo DS2500 pads by courier this morning however, so who cares about college work! That has reduced the chance on not getting spat into the ARMCO at the Nurburgring at the end of the month by at least a percent. I think I should bleed and refresh the brake fluid at the same time as the new pads go on, as it's been 18 months since it was changed when the new lines went on.
Much more fun than working, but the list for the pre-trip is now:
Pads
Fluid
Oil, Filters etc will all be changed in the service (the first I've paid for in years, but I want the professional eye
Rear Wiper
Paintwork

Helpful to have a list to refer to.

1st potential toy is a Aprilia 125 RS. This means I'll be able to spend my time being laughed off the road by proper bikers until I get my full licence. However, having spend the afternoon working out why the throttle way jammed (and various other parts didn't function...like the battery) it now runs. I have my CBT, I have my Theory, I now just need my full licence (and therefore need practice), all so I can get around to restoring the C15...

The second potential toy has potential for Simon not me. The most beautiful MGA I've ever seen . 2.1 litre straight cut gears and a soundtrack that is incredible.
We also got Simon's car fixed (hopefully) for the MOT re-test tomorrow after replacing the handbrake cable, lambda sensor, and taking the sticky caliper off.
I have a feeling I know why the rear wiper of my Mk2 isn't working so all in all a pretty good day mechanically speaking.
That however may be a task for another day (along with replacing the washer bottle hose, re-grinding and then spraying the bottom of the door, putting in a new sill etc.)
So time to C0ck 0ff and crack on with some college work...oh wait, the Pizza's here. Mmmm...Alis

 Comments

Awesome to the Max!

Cycling on telly, work in the past, an evening in the pub to come, and college work...put off until tomorrow. Must get it done as the plan is to fix up a friend's Pug in order to get it through it's MOT without resorting to bribery.
Curious as to why they have cars in the middle of the area though for the cycling? Hell why do they have some form of maze there? A maze of office corridors full of paperwork [shudder]. Pure carp if you ask me.
I think I've even found some performance brake pad suppliers for my trip to the Nurburgring Nordshliefe next month though...

In unrelated news, any twentysomething male who has devoted far to much time to the digital wizard in the corner (I know I have) might enjoy this post. That reminds me, it's been a time since I put in any serious FM4 activity...

 Comments

I don't like 'em...

...blogs that is. Therefore, God knows why I'm bothering to write this one, as I doubt I'll ever make a second post. Still, it keeps me away from doing college work...oh wait.
The amazing thing about work displacement activity is the amazingly mundane things that suddenly take on the all consuming importance of the quest for the Holy Grail. I've done a lot of college work today, but I've also fitted new wiper arms and blades to my Golf, tried to find a set of performance brake pads, ripped a load of CDs and surfed Pistonheads quite a bit.

Favourite work swear? Pr0n. It's got to be, it works on so many levels and actually surplants the normal word in day to day conversation.
